Following on from announcing our rebrand, we have some further updates on the overall direction that VEMP will be taking going forward. The rebrand to VEMP represents an exciting new chapter for our protocol. As part of our new focus on gaming as the primary entry point for web3 adoption, VEMP Studios has already started acquiring games like Penguin Karts and building games like Warring Tribes, to name a few. This move reflects our belief that web3 technology offers numerous benefits for gamers, including more control, ownership, and decision-making power. As such, we’ve made some changes to our protocol to reflect this.
Our shift in focus towards creating an ecosystem of great games across a range of genres and blockchains has resulted in us deciding to close our existing Metaverse pools as the next step in moving toward our new focus. The pools that we will be closing include $SAND, $MANA, $STARL, and $APE. All mentioned pools are fully liquid and you will be able to withdraw from those pools at any time to redeem the amount you have staked back. The pools will remain accessible for the time being, they just won’t be incentivized with staking rewards anymore. To be clear, we’re still keeping our Layer 1 & Stablecoin pools open as this aligns with our new vision of creating a high-quality gaming ecosystem spanning across a wide range of genres and blockchains. That said, the pools we’re still offering staking incentives for are $ETH, $BNB, $BUSD, and $VEMP.
We’re incredibly appreciative of all VEMP holders and supporters’ patience as we continue to roll out our rebranding phase. It’s an incredibly exciting time for us as an ecosystem. These upgrades and efforts to restructure are reflective of our plans to be the dominant force within the on-chain gaming sector. We are confident this focus on gaming will help us make web3 more accessible and enjoyable for all. Our mission to lower that barrier for entry is well underway.
